About Us

Chapter H (Harpeth Wings) stays active all year long with chapter rides for fun and gatherings that include safety tips, information about upcoming events and, of course, the camaraderie of fellow riders. Lots of fun events are scheduled throughout the year. We often ride as a group to Spring Fling and to visit other chapters. Chapter H does have a Christmas Party each year.

The name Harpeth Wings is derived from the Harpeth River which flows 125 miles from its headwaters in Eagleville, through Franklin, then on to its confluence with the Cumberland River near Cheatham Lake. A portion of the Harpeth is designated a State Scenic River. Parks along the Harpeth provide access to natural, archaeological, and historic sites. Due to its natural beauty and proximity to a major urban area, countless paddlers, anglers, and other outdoor lovers enjoy the river.

History

Chapter H was established in February 1982 in Nashville, Tennessee. In February 1983 the chapter received its Certificate of Charter. This Tennessee Chapter H stayed in operation until November 12, 1987, when it closed for lack of participation. On October 1, 1990, Tennessee Chapter H was relocated to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee where it operated until September 1996, then it moved to Franklin, Tennessee.

Chapter H began 2016 with a fresh new look. We have a new name, a new patch, and new red shirts. Chapter H has had its ups and downs, but is once again growing after 34 years.
